From soft girl to silent streetwear, these are the growing and declining trends that influenced womenswear, menswear, childrenswear, and beauty.

Women

The internet’s new favorite girl-next-door can be found wearing head-to-toe pastels, nostalgia-inducing hair accessories, and dreamy pieces reminiscent of childhood trends. For that soft girl look, grab a fuzzy cropped sweater (+87% to LY), ruffle mini skirt (+36% to LY), oversized sweatshirt (+84% to LY), a set of mini scrunchies(+50% to LY), and a claw hair clip (+58% to LY).

Men

Streetwear, as we know it, has changed, evolving to reflect current cultural conversations. Consumers are trading in loud graphics and bold silhouettes for elevated essentials and logo-less styles. Jogger sets for men (+125% to LY) and shackets (+75% to LY) are seasonless staples exhibiting accelerated growth, while mens chunky sneakers (+33% to LY) are growing at a steady rate and expected to continue to grow over the next 6 months with 70% confidence.

Beauty

With salons closed, Google searches for ‘how to bleach your hair’ and ‘how to cut bangs’ have reached a five-year high, +135% to LY and +134% to LY, respectively. Hair clippers (+642% to LY), hair trimmers (+176% to LY), and at-home hair color(+166% to LY) are here to assist with consumers at-home endeavors. Hair trimmers have a strong engagement rating on social media, having been mentioned in 27 posts over the last 3 months, with an average of 3,128 likes and comments per post.

Kids

Kids are reviving iconic trends from three specific eras, the 60s, 90s, and 00s, to escape the uncertainty brought on by 2020. Moved by nostalgia for normalcy, bucket hats (+121% to LY), tie dye shirts (+72% to LY), jelly sandals (+74% to LY), and baggy jeans (+68% to LY) are dominating the girls category.
